Oh How it Snows!

It's been almost a month since I've made a post, and I know, I know, it's ridiculous. Clearly, I have a problem. But, it's better late than never, right? So i might as well make the most of a snowstorm and blog a bit. Right now I'm stuckin my house, although i can't really object because as much as it might suck, it's also great. No one is asking me to leave the house at all! I basically get to sit around and read all day in front of a toasty fire with my cat. Is there anything better than that? The only bad thing that is a side effect of a blizzard is shoveling. I woke up at 10 am and shoveled 8 inches of snow. I went outside at 2 pm and shoveled 4 inches of snow. I went out at 4 pm and shoveled 11 inches of snow! How ridiculous is that? But hey, at least i got a great workout... and now my back and arms hurt. Oh, the joys of winter! So how is everyone who (doesn't) read my blog dealing with the international snowstorm? I read it's in Sweden too! Did you stock up on tons of groceries before it hit? If so, what did you buy? I know that we always get cookies, a lot of milk, and some sandwich stuff. It cracks me up the way all Americans react to snow. The second we hear there's a snowstorm, we all say, "Oh! I need to go to the supermarket!" It's hilarious! I didn't realize how true it was until my mom was looking at the weather and suddenly said to herself, "I think we need some more bread..." It's an epidemic. But a very tasty one! So, if you are reading, and you have the energy to make one tiny comment, please please please do it! I would love to hear from you!

An International Addiction

So this seems to be my real first blog post. I've decided that this seems to be a good time to talk about shoes. Yes, shoes. My one true addiction. I may suppress my obsession but somehow it always resurfaces in the form of a beautiful pair of shiny leather boots or beautiful satin flats. I'm not sure what it is that makes shoes so irresistable to women throughout the world, but there is some magical, controlling power that shoes have over us. And quite frankly, I don't mind it. Not one little bit. However, I possess an unfortunately large pair of feet. It's sad, I know. Most women that I know claim to have "super huge feet". Apparently size 9 or evern size 8 is huge. They have no idea what they are talking about. So by now you are probably wondering how big my feet really are. Try size 11. Yeah, the big one-one. Not even size 10. No no no, mother nature blessed me and my mother with abominable snow man feet. Of course, I am grateful to have feet to begin with, but for a person that has a foot fetish and loves shoes, it is a curse to have size 11 feet. I can't just walk into a store and pick up that beautiful pair of SteveMadden flats that is on the display in the front. SteveMadden doesn't even make shoes in size 11. It's a depressing fact of life. So for those of you out there who have normal feet and can find shoes just about anywhere and that don't look huge in most shoes, be thankful. Extremely thankful.

The Beginning Of The Renaissance!

So I'm starting a blog... who knew i would ever get around to doing it? I have wanted one for some time, but with my constantly distracted mind, i seem to forget my intentions. However, I have FINALLY remembered to sit down and start a blog. My blog. I have thought a lot about what I want my blog to be about, because of course there are many things that interest me and that I want to share with the world. It took me some time, but I finally came to the conclusion that there is no one thing that i want to dedicate my blog to, so i will cover everything! I figured that since I love to talk about things from fashion to art to books to the crazy visions i have of my future home, i will share them all here, hence the name Renaissance Girl. I'm a girl who does a little bit of everything. So if you're here, please stay, leave me a comment, and maybe you will even come back tomorrow!
